Network safety

The Code of Practice for Works supports the Electrical Safety Act 2002 (PDF, 788 KB) and the Electrical Safety Regulation 2002 (PDF, 1 MB).

The Code provides practical advice on ways electrical entities can manage the electrical safety risks of the earthing systems, underground cables, and overhead power structures that form part of their ‘works’.

Performance requirements
Requirements for works of an electricity entity

Protective earthing requirements
Recognised electricity supply industry standard, minimise electric shock

Underground electric cable systems
Meet electrical safety obligations, cable installations records

Maintenance of supporting structures for lines
Incidence of failure, overhead line
