Electrical Safety Outlook is a publication produced for electrical licence holders and others involved in the industry. It provides news and practical information about our industry on a range of topics from policy development to dealing with asbestos on the job.

Heater exhaust fan and light combination danger
Several brands of bathroom heater exhaust fan and light combinations (typically called bathroom 3-in-1 units, or 2-in-1 units if it has no fan) have been the subject of an electrical safety recall.

Wiring rules update
The Electrical Safety Office advises electrical contractors not to use AS/NZS 3018 Electrical installations – Domestic installations until it has been updated to fully align with the 2007 edition of the Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000:2007).

A licensed electrical contractor from Tanah Merah was fined $1200 recently after an Electrical Safety Office (ESO) inspector was obstructed from investigating wiring defects in a Cornubia home.
