Electrical product safety recall

Identification

This 240 volt (1KVA max.) generator was sold by Makita (Australia) between 1984 and 1996 under the brand name Makita and model number G1200R.

Affected units may carry on the fuel tank a label bearing a production number RG012.

Safety issue

Improper use of the external plug used with the generators external 12 volt charging socket may allow the plug to be inserted into a 240 volt AC outlet. This poses the risk of electrocution.

Action required

Owners should cease using the generator and respective battery leads and contact Makita (Australia) to arrange a free of charge modification.
