Regulatory Impact Statements
Regulatory Impact Statement is produced when significant subordinate legislation is developed.
The regulatory impact statement:
- explains why subordinate legislation is needed
- outlines the costs and benefits associated with the subordinate legislation
All Regulatory Impact Statements must be open to public comment for at least 28 days. By commenting on a Regulatory Impact Statement, you are participating in the legislative development process and providing valuable feedback to the Department of Justice and Attorney-General.
