Minimum pay

Queensland’s Industrial Relations Act 1999 (PDF, 1.9 MB) provides for a minimum rate of pay for all employees, whether or not you are covered by an award or an agreement.

In 2008, the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission ordered $552.00 as the Queensland minimum weekly wage rate for full-time adult employees.

Employees not covered by an award or agreement have their minimum wage established by the Industrial Relations Act 1999.

If you are not sure whether you are being paid the correct rate of pay contact the Department's Wageline information service on 1300 369 945.
