Industrial Relations Act 1999, was prosecuted for failing to pay wages payable under the Retail Industry Award – State 2004 to an employee when at the time of the offence he was an executive officer of the company. The employee was employed in Brisbane City as a shop assistant and was not paid correct wages from 7 May 2003 to 26 March 2006. The defendant was convicted and fined $2,000 however no wages were ordered to be paid as a settlement of $13,657.16 was paid prior to the hearing.
- He was also prosecuted for failing to pay wages payable under the Retail Industry Award – State 2004 to an employee when at the time of the offence he was an executive officer of the company. The employee was employed in Brisbane City as a shop assistant and was not paid correct wages from 19 August 2003 to 22 December 2005. The defendant was convicted and fined $2,000 however no wages were ordered to be paid as $11,484.14, the full amount fo wages owing ($4,596.50 wages, $6,236.84 annual leave and $650.80 wages in lieu of notice) was paid prior to the hearing.
