Cordon Bleu International Pty Ltd

Summary

Cordon Bleu International breached legislation by charging a fee to a work seeker who had approached the private employment agency to try and locate work as a nanny in France. She was charged a registration fee by the company of $70 which had to be paid before any action was taken. The work seeker paid a $185 deposit to the company but refused to pay any further monies. It is illegal for a private employment agency to charge any fee to find work for a client. A complaint was received from the work seeker and after investigation the agency was prosecuted and pleaded guilty to the offence.
