Summary

Peter Grigor Jockel, executive officer of Panaga Pty Ltd, was prosecuted under section 666 of the Act for an offence of failing to pay wages payable under the Child Care Industry Award – State 2003 to an employee when at the time of the offence he was an executive officer of the company.  The employee was employed as a child care assistant and the matter was heard in the Brisbane Central Industrial Magistrates Court. Jockel was convicted and fined $3,000 and ordered to pay the employee $1,381.20 arrears wages and overtime and $620.70 pro rata annual leave for the period employed from 23 July 2003 to 23 January 2004.
