Summary

Yasar Taner Dengiz, being an employer under the Industrial Relations Act 1999 (PDF, 1.9 MB), was prosecuted for failing to pay an employee correct wages in accordance with the Boarding House Employees Award - State (Excluding South-East Queensland) 2003. Employed as a grade two employee at the employer’s workplace at 95-97 Williams Esplanade, Palm Cove, the employee was not paid correct wages from 5 to 14 June 2007. Dengiz was fined $200 and ordered to pay $396.05 arrears of wages to the employee. He was also prosecuted for failing to keep proper time and wages records for an employee as required by section 670 of the Act for which he was convicted and fined $250.
