Treanor, Bazil Paul


Summary

Bazil Paul Treanor being an employer under the Industrial Relations Act 1999, was prosecuted for seven breaches of the Act regarding his operating a courier driving/earthmoving business at West Chermside.

The offences related to three past employees. One full time courier driver was not paid award wages or pro rata annual leave on termination.

The second employee was not paid correct wages for two separate positions and also was owed pro rata annual leave on termination. A third employee was also not paid an agreed rate of pay.

The matters were heard on 6 August 2009 in the Industrial Magistrates Court at Brisbane before Industrial Magistrate Mr Graham Lee. Treanor did not appear and the matters were heard ex-parte.

The magistrate ordered Treanor pay $1,707.75 in wages and pro rata annual leave to the first employee; $2,758.36 to in wages and pro rata annual leave the second employee; and $1,044.00 in wages to the third employee.

No conviction was recorded.
