New safety guidance for house builders

A series of new guides to improve workplace safety in the housing construction industry have been launched that are consistent with workplace safety regulations in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

The guidance material focuses on a range of safety issues in housing construction including supervision, site security, site access and amenities.

Builders must provide or have access to, adequate amenities to ensure the health, safety and welfare of their employees and others using their sites

What is adequate site supervision? (PDF, 63KB)
Builders must provide the degree of supervision necessary for work on their sites to be carried out safely and without risks to health

Site security and public access onto housing construction sites (PDF, 63KB)
Builders need to ensure that members of the public are not exposed to risk arising from the construction of a house
