Noise

Some sport and recreation activities create a noisy work environment. Examples include: kart racing tracks, rifle ranges, ten pin bowling alleys and squash courts.

You have a noise problem in your workplace if you have to raise your voice to talk to someone standing 1m away.

Ways to control hazards

• Contain noise as much as possible.
• Ensure workers have appropriate personal protective equipment and are trained in its use.
