Some sport and recreation activities create a noisy work environment. Examples include: kart racing tracks, rifle ranges, ten pin bowling alleys and squash courts.

You have a noise problem in your workplace if you have to raise your voice to talk to someone standing 1m away.

Ways to control hazards

Contain noise as much as possible.
Ensure workers have appropriate personal protective equipment and are trained in its use.
