Slips, trips and falls
Slips and falls can occur because of cluttered walkways, poor lighting or busy work areas.
Ways to control hazards
- Erect warning signs if floors or surfaces are freshly mopped.
- Keep walk areas clear of clutter and free from moisture.
- In heavily used areas, cover normal flooring with a non-slip material (if possible) or use non-slip mats.
- Wear non-slip shoes.
- Replace steps with ramps.
- Install adequate lighting, especially in delivery and storage areas.
