Alphapharm Pty Ltd Alphapharm will host a family open day promoting safety both at work and at home which will include safety displays from all sections. Emergency Services, Police, Electrical Safety Office, Red Cross, Qld Cancer Council, St John Ambulance will all be in attendance. The day will involve various activities including amusement rides, an animal farm for the children and free lunch will be provided for staff and their families. A tour of the manufacturing facilities will also be conducted so that staff can show family members the various safety programs in place. QFRS will be providing kitchen fire safety demonstrations and a fire truck on site for the kids. The police service will be there to cover home security and internet safety for childen. SES will have a number of displays and demonstrations. St John Ambulance will also be giving resuscitation demonstrations. |

Organisational psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Human Resources professionals, Coaches, and anyone working in the following areas: organisational development, occupational health, employee assistance programs, coaching, change management, development, HR policies, engagement and retention, etc. Our speakers will present insights into the prevention and management of the following occupational mental health issues: Mr Shane Stockill (Department of Justice and Attorney-General) will be focusing on workplace health and safety legislation. Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) is a leading Australian jurisdiction in the area of psychosocial issues and has developed a range of information and assessment tools to assist organisations and their workers to respond to risk of psychological injury in the workplace. This session will provide participants with a broad understanding of WHSQs role in assisting organisations to manage psychological injury risk, and when responding to worker complaints in the areas of occupational stress and workplace bullying/harassment. Dr Peter Cotton (Director of Psychology Services, Medibank Health Solutions) will be focusing on the Prevention and Management of Occupational Mental Health Issues. Ergon Energy Ergon are sending out a safety themed colouring-in page as part of a broader Safe Work Week pack to all Managers at Ergon Energy (nearly 1000 managers across the state). Employees are then asked to take it home for their children to colour in. They then send us a scanned copy, and all entreis will win a safety prize pack. The prize pack includes an Ergon Donut Frisbee, colouring pencils and other goodies. Last year over 50 entries were received! We hope to beat that this year! Entries will be shared on the Ergon internal Safe Work Week Intranet site, and selected ones will be published in Ergon's employee glossy magazine and on our daily email newsletter. We are thrilled to help support the week! |

Ergon Energy During Safe Work Week Ergon Energy will be holding an employee competition that asks our 5000 employees to attach a token (i.e. photo, memento, drawing) to a Interactive Team Frame then send an email or scan to the safety team. The Interactive Team Frame is an A1 poster with a picture frame around the border. The frame then becomes a collage representing employees' personal reasons for staying safe at work, and in their personal time. The best entries will receive merchandise branded with our safety logo including water bottles, towels, drink bottles etc. Participants in the competition will also go into the draw to win an individual major prize of a family portrait or travel voucher. |

Ernest Henry Mining At Ernest Henry Mining (EHM) we aim to operate a safe workplace that is injury and fatality-free. We are proud to participate in Safe Work Week 2011 and will be conducting a number of intitiatives to promote the following safety and health topics: Working at Heights, Hand Safety and Hydration. During the week, demonstrations will be conducted for crews showing how to work safely at heights. Two videos provided from the Safe Work Week website will also be presented and discussed during pre-shift safety meetings and other safety meetings. Promotional products will be handed out to our workforce to highlight the importance of Safe Work Week and we will be presenting awards to personnel who have made safety improvements in their work areas or contributed towards growing and sustaining a positive safety culture at EHM. A number of our personal protective equipment suppliers will also be on site during the week to showcase new and improved products to our workforce, focasing on hand safety and working at heights personal protective equipment. |

Glenzeil Glenzeil undertook safety activities across its construction sites in QLD and NSW this week, supporting the campaign of 'be on a winning team, achieve zero harm at work'. Activities throughout the week included on-site bbq's, charity lunch at the Head Office, MIC inductions, attendance at the Zero Harm at Work Leadership Breakfast and WHS Information Sessions. Glenzeil proudly raised money with all proceeds going to Mates in Construction. |

GLNG The GLNG Queensland Safe Work Week children's competitions are open to children up to and including 12 years of age. There are four competitions for each child to choose from: poster design, colour-in, find-a-word and • word code. There will be three age groups that entries will be grouped into for judging: younger than 5, 5-8, 9-12. One boy and one girl per age group will be nominated as the winner and receive a prize pack in the weeks after the entries close. Every child who enters will receive a memento to recognise their contribution to Queensland Safe Work Week. |

Spinal Injuries Association One Thursday Paul went to work and came home four months later using a wheelchair. In 24 years, Spinal Education Awareness Team (SEAT) volunteers have spoken to more than 1.4 million school students about the importance of safety. Since launching our workplace injury prevention program, SEAT at WORK in October 2010, we've spoken to more than 3,500 people all over Australia. We're inviting Workplace Health and Safety Officers and other professionals to join us for a SEAT at WORK presentation to meet our presenters and special guest Kirstin Ferguson, Workplace Health and Safety Queensland Board Member.
