An enforceable undertaking is a legal agreement which obliges an organisation to carry out specific activities to improve not only worker health and safety, but also deliver benefits to industry and the broader community.

After the department alleges an organisation has breached either the Electrical Safety Act 2002 or the Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995 (PDF, 766 KB) that organisation may decide to apply for an enforceable undertaking.
