Inspections

WHSQ inspectors
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland inspectors are appointed primarily to assist employers develop and improve systems of work, to prevent people from being injured or becoming ill as a result of their daily work activities.

Workplace inspections
The Department is empowered under the law to inspect workplaces.

Inspectors' powers
Inspectors have unfettered power to enter any workplace or suspected workplace or any place where specified high risk plant is situated.

Inspector conduct
The conduct of Workplace Health and Safety Queensland inspectors is governed by the Department of Justice and Attorney-General's code of conduct, and the Global Code of Integrity for Labour Inspection.
