Have you got your new occupational licence? Old style paper tickets are now illegal.

Do you or anyone you know still hold old style paper tickets issued prior to March 1992 which have not been converted to the new licence?

If so, it is important to be aware that these old tickets are no longer valid and it is illegal to perform work in the occupations covered by those certificates.

The vast majority of paper-ticket holders in Queensland are to be congratulated as they have already converted their old paper tickets to the new licence format. Workplace Health and Safety Queensland has extended the deadline until 30 April 2010 to assist those ticket holders still to convert to the new licences.

All certificates issued prior to March 1992 are invalid and need to be converted to the new licences by 30 April 2010.

Those paper ticket holders who have continued to work in the occupations during the last five years and have retained their competencies will be able to convert to the new licence/s usually without the need to obtain a statement of attainment or assessment summary.

For more information and guidelines on how to convert to the new licenses visit Workplace Health and Safety (licensing) or call Infoline on 1300 655 986.
