In responding to the needs of Queensland's diving industry, the Queensland Government has decided to combine both the Compressed Air Recreational Diving and Recreational Snorkelling Code of Practice 2005 and the Recreational Technical Diving Code of Practice 2002 into a single code, the Recreational Diving, Recreational Technical Diving and Snorkelling Code of Practice 2010.
The changes are part of the Queensland Government's broader strategy of cutting red tape within the industry and, at the same time, responding to the health and safety needs of industry and the wider community.

Extension of the Manual Tasks Code of Practice 2000
The Queensland Government's Manual Tasks Code of Practice 2000, which expired on 1 February 2010, has been extended. The code provides guidance on ways to prevent or minimise exposure to risk factors that can contribute to or aggravate work-related musculoskeletal disorders caused by manual tasks.
