Marker flags draw attention to overhead conductors and wires

Overhead conductors or wires are often very hard to see against grey clouds, mist or at night, especially when looking up through the cab of a vehicle.

For the past two years, Ergon Energy has been trialing a lightweight, user friendly marker flag.

The flags are highly visible as they have class 1 reflective patches which glow brightly at night when hit by light and also blow in the wind, drawing attention to them.

Hitting - or worse, bringing down - a power line, is dangerous and can also result in costly charges. The marker flags are a safe and cost effective way to minimise the risk.

The marker flags are made from high quality material and are UV resistant and flame retardant.

The marker flags should be used on power lines whenever it will increase the safety for workers, the public, pilots, construction workers and machinery operators in activites such as:

crop harvesting operations
external construction sites
crop spraying operations
machinery operation
regular underpass driveways.

Benefits

Prevents danger to operators and damage to conductors and equipment.
Marks the position of nearly invisible wires for cranes and high vehicles/plant.
Can be used to mark smaller wires such as earth wires as it weighs only 300 grams and causes little windage.
Can be used as an aircraft warning marker for low level operations, such as aerial spray application or mustering. *
It has a universal snap clamp which fits any size conductor including bundle conductors.
