Occupational stress tip sheets released
Occupational (or work-related) stress is recognised globally as a major challenge to workers health and to the health of an organisation.
Occupational stress describes the physical, mental and emotional reactions of workers who perceive that their work demands exceed their abilities and/or their resources (such as time, help, support) to do the work.
Risk management for occupational stress is not only a legal obligation but may be a way of improving performance at work.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland has developed practical information on occupational stress for ways in which organisations can effectively manage this issue.
