Waste management

Contaminated waste should be placed in a leak-proof bag or container and sealed. The bag or container should not be overfilled.

All waste should be handled with care to avoid contact with blood or body substances. Gloves should be worn when handling waste bags and containers. Waste bags, appropriate for the type of waste, should be used when large amounts of waste are generated. Waste disposal practices must comply with state or local government requirements.
