Online disinfection
Online disinfection is a process referred to within the Legionella and heterotrophic micro-organisms sample control strategies
- Add a chlorine compatible biodispersant (with detergent properties) to the recirculating water, then disinfect the system by dosing the water with a chlorine-based biocide (equivalent to 10 mg/L of free chlorine and recirculating for at least one hour while maintaining a pH of between 7.0 and 7.6) OR
- Use a bromine-based compound (with detergent properties) equivalent to at least 20 mg/L of free bromine and recirculate water for at least one hour, while maintaining the pH of the water between 7.0 and 8.5.
- Record all actions in a maintenance logbook.
