Responsibilities of employers and employees
Please read section 1 of the Guide to the Safe Use in Industry of Radio Frequency Generating Plant (PDF, 296 KB).
Under the Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995 (PDF, 766 KB), employers and self employed persons have an obligation to ensure workplace health and safety.

Employees have responsibilities under law to:
- follow safe RF working procedures established by the employer
- use any personal protective equipment (PPE) provided
- not intentionally exposing themselves or others to levels of RFR radiation that may exceed the exposure limits
- not to wilfully put anyone else or themselves at risk
- not operating plant with any shielding removed
