Delivering the goods safely – manual tasks in road freight

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland held free workshops during March-April 2009 as part of a national campaign aimed to reduce injury rates from manual tasks in the road freight transport industry.

The workshops:

• focused on preventing muscular and joint injuries particularly from loading and unloading vehicles.
• were aimed at owners, managers, supervisors, workplace health and safety officers and representatives, and health and safety professionals.
• provided participants with skills to manage manual tasks risks in their workplace.
• contained practical examples and solutions to implement in your workplace.
