'Managing sprains/strains injuries' workshops


These workshops explain how to get workers and work teams involved in identifying and fixing many ergonomics and manual tasks related issues at the workplace, using an easy to implement participative tool called PerForM.

  • All industries workshop
  • Cleaning Industry
  • Transport and storage industry (this workshop will also include the 'Managing for safety - Getting started' workshop)
  • Slips/trips/falls - workshop focuses on how to implement a systematic approach to reducing the number and severity of slips, trips and falls which occur at workplaces.


Managing for Safety - industry specific


These workshops will be conducted across Queensland for small to medium sized businesses.

These industry tailored workshops are designed to give participants a basic introduction to a simple safety management system process by introducing the Serious About Safe Business package and framework that businesses can easily implement, and using industry specific examples.

  • Metal Manufacturing
    • Also focuses on how to reduce and fix manual task related issues.
  • Construction
  • Hospitality
    • Especially targeted for hotels, pubs, clubs, cafes, restaurants and fast food outlets, and focuses on how to reduce and fix slips/trips/falls risks and the issues relating to young workers.
  • Motor trades (in conjunction with MTAQ)
  • Transport and Storage
    • Also focuses on how to reduce and fix manual task related issues.
  • Chinese language workshops
    • This workshop is to be delivered in Chinese.


Reserve your spot from the times and locations listed below. Numbers are limited at each location to allow personal contact with a small business advisor to discuss your workplace health and safety issues.

If a workshop is fully booked, you can still register your interest so that we can contact you if any further workshops are organised for your area, or if there is a cancellation.

These workshops are NOT suitable for large businesses or businesses with well developed health and safety systems in place already.
