The 2009 Queensland Work Safe Awards are a unique opportunity for all Queensland businesses to recognise their commitment to excellence in workplace health and safety. The awards reward genuine accident and incident prevention efforts while promoting best practice. They also encourage workplaces to develop and share innovative safety solutions that result in healthier and safer workplaces throughout the state.
In 2009, Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) and the Electrical Safety Office (ESO) is partnering with the Workers' Compensation Regulatory Authority (Q-COMP), Queensland's independent authority overseeing worker's compensation, to host a joint 'Work Safe' and 'Return to Work' awards program.
WHSQ's awards reward businesses, organisations and individuals preventing workplace accidents and Q-COMP's awards recognise those who help injured workers.
