Reciprocal design registrations with other States
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) is no longer required to issue reciprocal design registrations (Queensland reference numbers). The design registration number provided under a 'corresponding law' will be acceptable in Queensland. Corresponding law is defined in the Regulation as a law of the Commonwealth or another State about workplace health and safety.
The following procedures for plant design registrations will apply in Queensland when a registration is held in another state:
- the plant design registration under a corresponding law will be acceptable in Queensland
- if requested, a certified copy of the original approval letter for the particular plant design is to be produced within 10 days
- the plant design number must be given to the manufacturer, supplier and user
- the plant design number must be permanently marked on the plant so it is clearly visible.
