General safety induction (construction industry) training

Requirement under the law for general construction induction
All people doing construction work in Queensland must have successfully completed a general safety induction course recognised by Queensland law before they start work in any construction activity.

Obtaining a General Safety Induction Card
A General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) Card (also known as a blue card) is issued to a person who successfully completes the course 30215QLD – Course in General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) accredited under the Vocational Education, Training and Employment Act 2000.

Mutual recognition of interstate induction cards
Health and safety induction training completed by construction workers in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland is mutually recognised in those states.

Information for RTOs about the construction induction course
Registered training organisations (RTOs) or prospective RTOs wanting to deliver the Course in General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) - 30215QLD must undertake three steps.
