Prescribed occupations
Information has been updated to reflect changes to training and licences for operators of cranes (including a new certificate for self-erecting tower cranes), hoists, doggers, riggers, scaffolders, and pressure equipment effective from 1 January 2006.
What is a prescribed occupation?
a person must not work in a prescribed occupation listed in Schedule 5 unless the person is the holder of a relevant authority to work (certificate) in that prescribed occupation or is a trainee in that occupation.
Registered Training Organisations for various licence types
Licences for prescribed occupations and high risk work have been categorised into groups, with detailed information on the licence types, related competencies and lists of Registered Training Organisations (RTO).
Existing and interstate certificate holders
Existing Queensland certificate holders for dogging, rigging, scaffolding, pressure equipment and crane and hoist operation will be converting to a renewable photographic licence for high risk work within the next 5 years. There are consistent guidelines for all Australian jurisdictions when certifying (i.e. testing and issuing certificates) users and operators of industrial equipment.
