The Zero Harm at Work Leadership Forum program encourages industry and government to work together to find new and innovative ways to improve health and safety not just in individual organisations, but across industry more broadly.
Your feedback and participation in the Zero Harm at Work Leadership Forum program will be invaluable in finding real solutions for industry. The program provides access to information and education through mentoring arrangements and events for your peers and industry partners throughout the year.
A commitment to the Zero Harm at Work Leadership Forum program is a commitment from the director, owner or CEO of an organisation. This is not a program for a designated safety officer within your organisation, although they will have a role to play in your organisation and industry in promoting the zero harm message.
How do I become a member of the Zero Harm at Work Leadership Forum program?
There are two ways to participate in the program:
1. By invitation from the Queensland Workplace Health and Safety Board - core member
The program works on the premise that developing cultural change in an organisation and industry as a whole requires commitment from the most senior levels of management.
Core membership of the leadership forum targets industry leaders who have the capacity to significantly influence the way in which not only their own organisation operates, but that of their supply chains. Therefore, the composition of the forum is designed to reflect the scope of impact its members can have on your industry.
In agreeing to become a core member, you are also agreeing to:
2. By application - associate member
While core members of the program are decided by invitation from the Workplace Health and Safety Board, all levels of industry are encouraged to participate in the program. In fact, Workplace Health and Safety Queensland and the Board encourage you to sign-up to the program as an associate member.
Associate members are encouraged to seek sponsorship from core members who you may already be doing business with, in your industry. This is to foster industry to industry networking and discussions about ways you can work collaboratively together to improve workplace health and safety.
Organisations participating in the Zero Harm at Work Leadership Forum program are listed on the Workplace Health and Safety Queensland website.
To sign-up, first you need to formally agree to the Zero Harm at Work Leadership Forum Charter. The Charter is a set of principles which provides guidance on the types of behaviours which foster continuous improvement in workplace health and safety.
Because this program is about committed leadership from the top of an organisation, the director/owner/CEO of the organisation will need to formally write or email Workplace Health and Safety Queensland agreeing to the Charter and to participate in the program to:
